Small restaurant but great ambiance and food. The fried chicken sandwich was very good.
South Lane is one of our go to's in Guilford. The food is always excellent, the service is superior & the owners are lovely & welcoming. Small & charming, the comfort of customers is clearly a priority. Call first - South Lane is very popular for good reason! One suggestion-bring the tempura broccoli from the Sea House to South Lane! And the seafood Cobb salad!

I have enjoyed eating there for a long time. The service and atmosphere are truly exceptional. The regular menu has a lot of variety, however the specials are always new and definitely thought out. Get the Carrot Cake if it's available. My all time favorite. Highly recommend.
We visited this bistro, near the Guilford green, by pure chance tonight. What a great surprise on a beautiful night. We were seated on their adorable covered back porch, where every seat has a red blanket draped over the back. We shared the Oh-J double IPA (delicious), mini Vietnamese chicken tacos, the salmon burger w fries, and the warm brownie sundae. Each course was unique, beautifully seasoned, and delicious. The server was wonderful and attentive, the porch was cozy and cute, and we had a great experience. Highly recommend.
I used to come here all the time and not really sure why I stopped. Finally came back and it's better than ever. Delicious food, great chopped salad and fried zucchini. Cozy place but never feels cramped. Make a reservation as it is small inside. Great service as well. Adding South Lane back into my rotation.
We had a really great date night at South Lane a couple weekends ago. We sat outside in the little pergola outdoor area not attached the restaurant and it was great! Definitely recommend making a reservation as tables are limited. Our waitress was very nice and food and drinks came out pretty quickly after we ordered. We enjoyed the Buffalo brussel sprouts and calamari for appetizers- both were wonderful. My entrée was phenomenal! It was a special that had a "cold" angel hair pesto pasta with grilled zucchini and tomatoes with the most perfectly cooked scallops on top. It was light and refreshing for a summer night despite it being a pasta dish- very summery. My husband had the fish tacos and they were okay but we have had better. The lemon cake we got for dessert was also amazing! We will be back forsure!

I love this places outdoor dining ! Partially covered with just enough windows for fresh air and sunshine but allows you to sit outside comfortably. The food was amazing and so was my margarita. I would love to become a regular here but the pricing is a bit out of my budget, so I'll have to settle for the occasional visit/date night instead. Yes, everything tastes as good (if not better) than it looks in the photos I've attached.
